West Toronto, and specifically south Etobicoke, has been the subject of much City planning initiative to revitalize and redevelop the site surrounding area including Humber Bay Shores and Mimico 20/20. Given it’s size and location, the 2150 Lakeshore Blvd West has a significant role to play in the future vision of this area, with a unique ability to influence not only the urban fabric of the Humber Bay Shores neighbourhood but the mobility patterns of the surrounding area.
Earlier this year, City Council and the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) approved the conversion of the majority of 2150 Lake Shore Blvd W. (former Christie Cookie site) to a Regeneration Area. BA Group assisted with the submission of an Official Plan Amendment Application (OPA) to address present and future community needs, including a proposed integrated GO/TTC Transit Hub as well as improved cyclist, pedestrian and road infrastructure and more places to eat, shop, live, work and experience.
The proposed Master Plan has been developed with the understanding that transportation advancement is the key to unlocking the potential to develop an integrated, active and attractive community in southwest Toronto.
