Ashley Borne B.A.Sc., EIT
Transportation Designer

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2014. From there she graduated with two years of combined industry work experience in transportation, municipal and structural engineering. Following graduation, Ashley worked as a municipal subdivision designer for two years, where her role included elements of both detailed design and project coordination.

Prior to joining BA Group full-time in 2016, Ashley completed 8 months of co-op work experience with BA Group in 2012 and 2013. Her experience working as a student designer includes (but is not limited to): parking garage and loading space site plan reviews, development of detailed traffic control plans, functional road design and transportation advisory services.

Since joining the company full-time, Ashley has been primarily engaged in the design and implementation of Traffic Management During Construction (TMDC) plans for a wide array of development projects. In the later half of 2016, Toronto’s mayor John Tory tightened application requirements for right-of-way occupancy. This resulted in greater sensitivity to lane occupancies, and an increase in the complexity and scope of the transportation consultant's role in the application process. Her experience ranging from the development of single phase TMDC plans, to complex multi-phase plans, including large heritage façade retention systems, has assisted many Client’s through the application process. Ashley’s TMDC experience has included the preparation of Construction Mitigation Reports, Construction Management Plans for Zoning/Site Plan Application and TMDC Plans for Right-of-Way Occupancy.

Ashley has also collaborated on the transportation design of development applications, including site plan reviews for parking garages and loading space studies.

Her past role as a subdivision designer included the practice of detailed grading, ranging from road grading to more complex interfaces between berm and retaining wall systems.
