THE AVENUES INCREMENTAL GROWTH STUDIES
BA Group has worked on two Incremental Growth Studies (IGS) for the City of Toronto in support of the New City of Toronto Official Plan. These studies examined the re-urbanization of neighbourhoods across Toronto that represent opportunities for reinvestment creating residential intensification. BA Group’s input was used to shape the overall IGS studies, which included expertise from urban design, land use planning, architecture, landscape architecture, public consultation, real estate, and project management team members.
HIGHWAY 7 CORRIDOR STUDY, MARKHAM
In 2003, BA Group reviewed potential transit station locations along the future York Region Rapid Transit line, as well as associated policies, bylaws, and TDM measures to reduce automobile use.
BUSINESS DISTRICT STREETSCAPE, MILTON
BA Group was retained by the Town of Milton to provide advice on developing a traffic strategy for the Town’s central business district. Traffic considerations and parking alternatives were evaluated to optimize traffic operations and improve access to the downtown area.
BLUE MOUNTAIN RESORT, STREET DESIGN GUIDELINES
This resort required transportation consulting to service the seasonal trade of hotels, shops, and attractions, while supporting its early Ontarian architecture theme. BA Group prepared design guidelines for practical, integrated, and affordable street improvements responding to the needs of motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.
