Emily Ecker, B.A.Sc.

Transportation Planner

Following a successful co-op term at BA Group, Emily joined the firm full time in 2009 after graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours Civil Engineering).

Since joining the firm, she has provided traffic analysis and planning services in support of several projects, including the new River City mixed-use development in the West Don Lands district.  As the first phase of Toronto’s new revitalized waterfront, River City is a collection of five mixed-use buildings proposed to be built over the next five to seven years.  The building complex will be surrounded by one of the largest planned public parks in Toronto, an 18-acre oasis to be called Don River Park.  Emily has contributed to the site planning and transportation planning elements in support of this sustainable and transit-first development.

Emily is a member of ITE and, at BA Group, she sits on both the Social and Green committees and is an active participant in technical workshops and other continuing education efforts.
