HULLMARK HIGHWAY 427 EXPROPRIATION
Toronto, Ontario

In 1960, the Minister of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) expropriated 28 acres of Hullmark Developments’ land. Later, Hullmark appealed the MTO’s compensation, claiming that complications, including a bridge across the Humber River, had increased Hullmark’s costs. In 2000, BA Group supported Hullmark’s claim at the Ontario Municipal Board.

RAMA ROAD EXPROPRIATION
RAMARA, Ontario

This Class Environmental Assessment concerned the relocation of Rama Road (near Orillia, Ontario) approximately 150 metres to the east. BA Group provided advice on a re-alignment that would support growth and development, relieve traffic congestion on Highway 12, promote economic growth, and support the existing local street network.

NATIONAL SPORTS CENTRE, YONGE/SHEPPARD
Toronto, Ontario

BA Group provided traffic management during construction for the new TTC Yonge subway station, following which, National Sports at the Willowdale Plaza challenged that the land expropriation during construction resulted in poor access and negatively affected their business during the five-year period. BA Group provided expert testimony in support of the City of Toronto and the TTC, stating that local businesses were adequately considered and provided for in the traffic management plan.
