BA Group is participating in the Clean Air Commute!

Jun 11, 2008

For the fourth year, BA Group is participating in Pollution Probe’s Clean Air Commute, a week-long, friendly competition between GTA companies to change their employees’ commuting habits, from June 23rd to 27th.

The Commute is endorsed and sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment as an effort to help Canada achieve its goal under the Kyoto Protocol of reducing its greenhouse gas emission levels.  Transportation accounts for 25 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Canada.  By clean air commuting, individuals can make a difference and reduce the impact that their commuting behaviour has on the environment.

This is not a fund-raising event – it is a participation event – to illustrate that small changes in habit by many people can make a difference!

During last year’s Commute week, BA Group employees saved almost 1 tonne of pollutants from entering the GTA’s atmosphere by choosing efficient commuting options!
